Free your mind
When trying to design any thing, try as much as possible to free your mind. Don't concentrate on just one thing and you will be able to produce something excellent. like this

Maxwell Maltz once said "The difference between a successful man and a failure, is not one's better abilities or ideas, but the courage one has to act on them". this is true because when you try to bring up something new or designing something that can stand out as a masterpiece, the one thing that can help you is courage and believe. Believing in your self is one of the main keys that can give you a positive mindset that you can make it.
In design
In other to be a great designer, one thing you need to take into consideration is Planning. Planning plays a big role in all that you want to design that is why there is a saying that " If you fail to plan, you plan to fail".
